Cold sheds are mostly used in the south, as they are well-suited for the rainy weather there. They are simple plastic greenhouses that are cost-effective. Although cold sheds have poor insulation, they have good moisture retention. Plastic greenhouses fully utilize solar energy and have a certain insulation effect. By rolling up the film, the temperature and humidity inside the cold shed can be adjusted within a certain range. Therefore, cold sheds are only suitable for outdoor use.
1. Cold shed made of galvanized steel pipes
The galvanized steel pipe structure, featuring arches, end columns, and longitudinal tension rods made of thin-walled steel pipes, is connected using specialized fixtures to form a unified whole. All rods and fixtures undergo hot-dip galvanizing for rust prevention. These are factory-produced industrial products. The cold shed constructed with galvanized steel pipes is corrosion-resistant, exhibits high overall strength, and has strong resistance to wind and snow. Its service life can exceed 15 years, making it a relatively advanced shed structure at present.
2. Cold shed with bamboo and wooden structure
The cold sheds of this structure are similar in various regions, with minor differences. The main parameters and shed shape, such as the span, length, shoulder height, and ridge height, are basically consistent. Moreover, this type of cold shed is easy to construct due to its convenient materials and low cost. It is also a common sight in rural areas. However, its disadvantages include a high number of pillars inside the shed, high shading rate, inconvenience during regular farming activities, short service life, and poor performance in resisting wind and snow loads.
3. Cold shed with welded steel structure
This type of steel structure cold shed features a planar truss formed by welding steel pipes, steel bars, or a combination of both. The frame is relatively sturdy, without a central column, providing a spacious interior with good light transmittance and ease of operation. It is a relatively good cold shed facility. However, this frame is painted for rust prevention, requiring repainting every 1-2 years, which can be troublesome. With proper maintenance, its service life can reach 6-7 years.
